I felt like I had a weekend trip to Havenport and was right by Evelyn's side as she searched for clues to end the town's curse. Wayne is chillingly expressive and gives depth to the mystery in less than one hundred pages. The suspense was satisfying, and the story was original. This is a good way to sample the author's writing style, as his focused descriptions and dialog will lure you into the story, much like the fog draws curious souls.
